| The State Government of Orissa has recently sanctioned about 140 faculty positions for the Ravenshaw University. These positions were already in the strength of erstwhile Ravenshaw College. They have now been created in the establishment of Ravenshaw University and the recruitment process will begin soon. |

The faculty of an educational institution constitutes its most valuable and critical element. It defines the level of excellence and intellect which the University fosters. Great care therefore has to be taken in selecting members of faculty as they are likely to play a key role in the future course of its growth and development.
The formal notice and advertisement for faculty recruitment will soon be published, both in this website and elsewhere. This may be treated as an advance intimation of the recruitment process. Through this we are requesting friends of Ravenshaw within the country and abroad to help in selecting the most talented and distinguished individuals for this Institution.
We clearly need versatile people who apart from their academic excellence will be good at developing an academic culture to engage creatively with the challenges posed by contemporary times. They will be institution builders who can give vision and direction to their schools and departments.
Our recruitment shall be for tenure positions. We would also consider contractual appointments and re-employment of superannuated persons as well as visiting faculties if their credentials are suitable. Academics who love Ravenshaw and who have had the opportunity of working in other institutions of academic excellence both in the country and abroad may consider taking up tenure assignments to lay the foundation of the new university. Their insights, borne out of experience and exposure to other challenging environments, will be invaluable.
