A) Student's Residence
There are eleven hostels (seven for boys and four for girls) in this University. They are:

Information and selection regarding hostel admission will be notified in the university notice boards. The selection will be made purely on the basis of merit list of the Entrance Examination. In view of the limited seats in ladies hostels, all candidates selected for admission may not get hostel accommodation. They shall have to make their own arrangement before they get themselves admitted into the University.
B) Rules Of Hostels
Selection of boarders for single seated rooms will be made by the Superintendents of respective hostels in accordance with the admission merit list/marks secured by the student. Window seats will also be decided on the basis of marks only.
- No boarder is permitted to change his seat without the permission of the Superintendent.
- Study hours shall be strictly adhered to on all days during the session from 7 AM to 9 AM and 7 PM to 9 PM except in the evening of Saturdays and on festive days.
- Absence from hostel for a day or more should be intimated to the Hostel Superintendent / Asst. Superintendents.
- Care of Hostel Property: Every boarder is responsible for the care of hostel property he/she uses. Boarders will be charged for all damages caused to the hostel property used by them individually or collectively.
- Electricity: Only light for reading purposes and ceiling fans are provided by the hostel. Every boarder while leaving his room even for a few minutes has to switch off the light and fan supplied to him. Boarders are not permitted to use any electrical appliances (such as heater) other then light and fan. Boarders will make their own arrangement for electric bulbs.
- (a) Security: - In order to safeguard against theft, boarders are advised to use strong type of locks.
(b) No ward-servant or any other hostel or mess employee should be asked by a boarder to do any job exclusively of personal nature.
- Visitors: - A boarder is not allowed to keep any visitor in his room during the study hours or at night. Visitors are not allowed to see the boarders in their rooms during study hours. In cases of emergency, a visitor should wait at the entrance with an intimation to the boarder concerned and the boarder will come to meet him.
- Guests: - Only in exceptional circumstances, the natural guardian of a boarder may be permitted, with previous sanction from the Superintendent, to reside in the hostel for one night provided that his visit has reference to the interest or welfare of the boarder.
- Hostel TV shall not be played loudly at any time so as to cause disturbance to the boarders of the adjacent rooms. The daily newspapers meant for the common roam shall not go outside or to any room of the boarders
- The following shall be considered as breach of discipline:
a) Absence from hostel without leave
b) Continuous neglect of studies
c) Want of cleanliness and tidiness in the rooms
d) Sitting outside the rooms and the verandahs
e) Singing or playing of any musical instrument, except during specific hours
f) Making noises / cat calls
g) Cycling on the verandahs
h) Writing or disfiguring the walls, doors or windows of the building
i) Holding any meeting in the hostel without the approval of the Superintendent
j) Calling bad names or showing any other derogatory behavior towards the hostel and mess employees
k) Use of heaters in the rooms
l) seeing video-film in the rooms or common room after 12.00 midnight
m) use of drugs, intoxicants or consumption of alcoholic drinks
n) Smoking inside the hotels premises
o) Misconduct of any other description
- A student shall cease to be a boarder of the hostel in the following cases and then he shall be required to vacate the hostel with his belongings: -
(i) From the date of taking his C.L.C.
(ii) Within two days after the completion of Final Examination of +3 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year and PG 5th year, VI year and M.Phil. Classes
(iii) In case a student does not appear at the final examination due to him, he/she has to leave the hostel within two days from the date of commencement of the examination
(iv) The boardership of a student will cease if he defaults payment of hostel dues and college dues for a period of two consecutive months
(v) Boarders are not allowed to keep cars or motor cycles in the hostel. If anybody keeps it, he can de so at his own risk and with the prior permission of the superintendent
(vi) Boarders causing physical or mental torture to any other boarder shall forfeit their seats in the hostel and will have to vacate the hostel
